DALLAS, TX – The Mavericks (3-1) move to 2-0 at home after a comeback 104-99 win to the San Antonio Spurs (1-4).

The Mavs started the game off on a bad note going down to the Spurs 23-3 and Dallas didn’t look like the normal Dallas team. They were playing lackadaisical and the Spurs were knocking down shots. Luka and company could not find their rhythm early and Jalen Brunson came to help. He sparked light in this Mavericks team with three minutes remaining in the quarter ending only down 10 to San Antonio.

The Mavs defense woke up and held the Spurs to just two points for the remaining five minutes of the first quarter.

They ended the quarter down 25-15 and sparked fire in the second quarter.

The Mavs got it together and went on to beat the second quarter 32-24 and went into the locker room down 49-47.

Dallas went on to win the third and fourth quarter and win the game 104-99. They shot better tonight then they have in earlier games this season shooting 46 percent from the floor and 40 percent from beyond the arc, which is the best three-point shooting they have done all season.

The bench has been the most consistent thing for the Mavs so far this season. Jalen Brunson had another steller night with 19 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. He has been the bench’s most consistent player throughout the beginning of this season.

Luka Doncic led all scorers with 25 points, three rebounds, and five assists.

Maxi Kleber had a great night as well with a double-double 12 points, 10 rebounds, and two assists.

The Mavs will head to Denver to play the Nuggets tomorrow night at 9 PM.
