DALLAS — The Mavericks couldn’t close out a tight one at home, dropping a 113-111 decision to the Knicks despite a huge night from their reserves.
Dallas’ bench matched its season high with 64 points, led by Naji Marshall and D’Angelo Russell, who each poured in 23. Russell added seven assists and five boards, securing his third 20-5-5 performance off the bench this season — a new franchise mark. Marshall continued his breakout year with his seventh 20-point game as a Maverick reserve.
Max Christie added 15 points and three threes, while Dereck Lively II grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked three shots, tying Shawn Marion for 20th on the Mavs’ all-time list for three-block games.
Dallas hit 16 threes and held New York to 28.6% from deep, but the Knicks’ season-high 10 blocks and strong rebounding sealed the difference late.
