FORT WORTH, Texas — TCU opened its home schedule with a commanding 42-21 win over Abilene Christian, extending its win streak to six and moving to 2-1 on the season.
Josh Hoover led the offensive explosion, throwing for 337 yards and four touchdowns—his best career passer rating at 231.5. The Horned Frogs scored on their first six drives and never looked back.
Freshman Ed Small made his mark with two first-half touchdown grabs, while Joseph Manjack recorded his first 100-yard receiving game. Trent Battle and Jon Denman added rushing scores, and the defense chipped in with sacks from Namdi Obiazor and Ansel Din-Mbuh.
TCU is now 3-0 all-time vs. Abilene Christian and 22-2 in its last 24 home openers. The 48,094 fans in attendance marked the second-largest crowd ever for a TCU home opener.
