DALLAS, TEXAS — After a tough 48-45 double-overtime loss to Baylor, SMU heads to Springfield for its first-ever meeting with Missouri State.
Quarterback Kevin Jennings tied a career high with three touchdown passes—including two 75-yard strikes—while leading SMU to a season-high 458 total yards. Romello Brinson continued his hot start with 126 yards and two touchdowns, and TJ Harden added three rushing scores.
The Mustangs have won nine straight regular-season road games and are 21-5 in their last 26 overall. Jennings ranks top 16 nationally in passing yards, efficiency, and points responsible for, while Brinson ranks top five in multiple receiving categories.
Defensively, SMU leads the FBS in defensive touchdowns and ranks top five in takeaways. Isaiah Nwokobia has earned national recognition and appears on multiple award watch lists.
Missouri State is 1-1, coming off a narrow win over Marshall after a lopsided loss to USC. Kickoff is Saturday in Springfield.
