DALLAS, TEXAS — The Dallas Mavericks are keeping their core intact, agreeing to a contract extension with forward P.J. Washington, ESPN reported on Wednesday.
Washington, acquired at last season’s trade deadline, quickly proved to be a valuable fit alongside Luka Dončić and Kyrie Irving. His defensive versatility and ability to space the floor were key during the Mavs’ deep playoff run.
While contract details haven’t been disclosed, the move reflects Dallas’ commitment to continuity. Washington averaged 12.5 points and 5.8 rebounds with the Mavs and took on some of the toughest defensive matchups nightly.
With training camp approaching, Dallas looks poised to build on last year’s momentum—and Washington will be a major part of that equation.
