Mavericks Fall To Spurs In Season Finale

DALLAS, TEXAS — The Dallas Mavericks lost to the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday afternoon, 138-117. The Mavericks finished the season 38-44, their first losing season since Luka Dončić’s first with the team, and officially missing the playoffs. They went down bad, going 7-25 in the last two months of the season despite their acquisition of Kyrie Irving just before the trade deadline.

Jaden Hardy was the high point man for Dallas with 25 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. Sandro Mamukelashvili had 23 points,11 rebounds, and 4 assists for the Spurs in a balanced effort that saw eight players score in double figures.

Luka Doncic sounded incredibly frustrated near the end of the season and said he wasn’t having fun out on the court anymore. There were rumors reported earlier last week that there was fear internally that Doncic would request a trade as soon as next summer. But, that’s not the case Luka is very happy in Dallas.

Dallas will wait to see if the eight-time All-Star Kyrie Irving will re-sign in free agency. Mavericks Head Coach Jason Kidd stated on Irving not wanting to discuss anything to the press, “I think I said this before, he’s at peace.”
