Mavs Come Up Big Down Low In Win Over Spurs 137-128; Wood And Powell Combine For 43 Points

SAN ANTONIO, TX – The Dallas Mavericks (35-35) defeat the San Antonio Spurs (18-51) in a 137-128 victory after a close call at the end of the game when Maxi Kleber Fouled Keldon Johnson at the basket, threw the ball out of bounds and gave up the alley-oop to send the game to overtime. With this win Mavs snap a three-game losing streak.

Big baskets came down low for the Mavericks which is not what we are used to this season and six players scored in double figures on Wednesday night. Christian Wood led with 28 points, 13 rebounds, and three assists. Dwight Powell and Jaden Hardy both had 22 points, Josh Green had 21 points, and Reggie Bullock had 20 points.

The Dallas Mavericks are 5-0 when Christian Wood scores 28+ points.

Dallas was without Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving once again tonight.

The Mavs won the rebound game 52-47 and Wood and Powell did an excellent job down low showing their presence in the paint which is something they have been struggling with all season. The rebound game and points in the paint have been something Dallas comes up short in.

Dallas was solid from the three-point line shooting 17-of-33 for 51 percent. They also did a great job at the line shooting 32-of-37 for 86 percent.

Mavs will head to Los Angeles to play the Lakers on Friday night. Tip off is at 9:30 PM.
