Dallas Mavericks Get Opening Night Revenge As They Dominant Phoenix Suns, 130-111

DALLAS, TEXAS — Sweet, sweet revenge! The Dallas Mavericks were able to pull off a victory over the Phoenix Suns 130-111. There was no stopping this offense. The Mavs collectively had 42 points in the paint, shot 84% from the free throw line, and their largest lead of the night was by 27 points. The Suns were never closer than 17 points in the second half.

Luka Doncic gave everyone some of that Luka magic by leading the Mavs with 33 points, 6 rebounds, and 8 assists. Following Spencer Dinwiddie with 21 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Following the game Mavs head coach Jason Kidd stated, “ we just beat the team that’s number one in the west.” Kidd seemed very pleased with everyone’s performance and hopes to keep this momentum going.

There were some special guests in the American Airlines Center, specifically free agent Odell Beckham Jr. He was accompanied by two well known defensive players for the Dallas Cowboys, linebacker Micah Parsons and cornerback Trevon Diggs. They sat in Cowboys owner Jerry Jones courtside seats. Beckham politely declined to discuss the reason for his visit to the Lone Star but Cowboys nation became alive in the arena where fans suddenly started chanting mid game, ”O-B-J, O-B-J” multiple times. It’s safe to say the Cowboys fan base is willing to welcome OBJ with open arms.
