Mavericks Get The Dub Holding Off Raptors 111-110

DALLAS, Texas — It was an eventful night for the Dallas Mavericks, not only defeating the Toronto Raptors 111-110, but offense and defense was on fire. Dwight Powell started for the first time this season and Luka Dončić now leads the league in scoring, averaging thirty six points per game.

Dončić had his eighth consecutive game of at least 30 plus points to begin the season. The only other NBA player to score 30 or more points in the first eight games of a season was Wilt Chamberlain, who did it in the first eight games of 1959-60 and the first 23 games of 1962-63.

Dončić finished with 35 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists. Along with Spencer Dinwiddle with 21 points, 1 rebound, and 7 assists.

Toronto had 19 turnovers converting into 26 points for the Mavs. Head coach Jason Kidd stated that, ”defense looked connected.” Luka Dončić then commented on what his best play of the night was as he chuckled saying, ”the hook shot was the best play for sure…I like my coffee with a little Kareem.”

The Mavericks will be back at home Monday November, 7th to take on the Brooklyn Nets 8:30pm CT.
