SMU Tops Tulane 82-67

DALLAS, TEXAS — SMU Men’s Basketball beat Tulane 82-67 on. Saturday’s win makes the Mustangs 15-5 on the year, with only 1 home loss. Tulane remains under .500 overall and in American Athletic Conference play.

SMU started slow and trailed by 3 at half time. The Mustangs got it going offensively in the second half after making adjustments to Tulane’s match up zone.

Tulane 1st year head coach, Ron Hunter, got ejected arguing a call in the 2nd half. Kendric Davis went 3/4 on the technical foul free throws, which put the Mustangs up 13 points midway through the second half. The Mustangs controlled the game from that point on.

Tyson Jolly led the team scoring with 20 points. Kendric Davis, made the AAC Honor Roll this week, and had another big night with 18 points, 13 assists and 9 rebounds. CJ White also had a big night, going 5/7 from 3 point range, ending with 15 points on the game.

SMU plays at Temple next Saturday, Jan 8. It will be the 2nd regular season match up between the team, with SMU having won the first by 16 points at home. The Mustangs have a week off to rest up and get healthy before the last stretch of conference play. Head coach, Tim Jankovich called it their last “recharge” of the season.
