FRISCO, TEXAS — FC Dallas and St. Louis CITY SC settled for a 1-1 draw at Toyota Stadium, but Dallas (3-3-1) remains unbeaten on home turf.
St. Louis CITY SC dominated most of the first half’s possession with four corners and five crosses in just the first third of the game.
Ramiro went down in the 30th minute after a tackle, and had to be stretchered off. Dallas ultimately gave up 6 corners and as many crosses in the first half alone. FCD’s best two chances of the half came from Petar Musa during the stoppage time before heading into the locker room, still in a scoreless draw.
Head coach Eric Quill said he didn’t recognize his squad in those first 45 minutes.
“The team you’ve been watching hasn’t lost the mentality edge in any half this year…” except for the first one tonight.
But it only took three minutes into the second half for FCD to finally find the back of the net—a first goal for Deedson in his first start.
STL answered in the 60th minute, with two players open on the back post: it was Timo Baumgartl who put it opposite post for the finish to level it at 1-all.
Designated Player Santiago Moreno, who is on loan from Brazilian side Fluminense FC through the end of this 2026 MLS season, made his Toyota Stadium debut tonight in the 67th minute.
GK Michael Collodi made a big save before the whistle blew to keep it a draw.
It’s St. Louis’ second-straight point on the road, having previously drawn 1-1 with Eastern Conference opponent NYCFC the game before. And the 1-all scoreline is the same as last season’s matchup between these two teams at Energizer Park.
“Nights like tonight are not us, and it bothered us all,” Quill said.
FC Dallas will host LA Galaxy next Saturday, and “you can bet we’re coming out flying next week” Quill said.
