DALLAS — The Dallas Stars came up short in a tightly contested 5–4 loss to the Colorado Avalanche in a game that featured playoff-level intensity.
Jason Robertson recorded two assists, extending his multi-point streak to four straight games — tying a career high. Robertson has now posted multi-point performances in eight of his last 13 games, totaling 18 points during that stretch.
Miro Heiskanen opened the scoring with a first-period power-play goal as Dallas extended its power-play scoring streak to eight consecutive games. The goal was the Stars’ 55th power-play tally of the season, already matching last year’s total.
Wyatt Johnston scored his 34th goal of the season — a new career high — and added an assist, extending his point streak against Colorado to seven games.
Heiskanen finished with a goal and an assist for the 78th multi-point game of his career, while rookie Justin Hryckowian registered a goal and an assist for his second career multi-point effort and logged a career-high 20:22 of ice time.
“Two good teams going at it back and forth,” Stars captain Jamie Benn said. “You give them a couple more chances, they’re going to make you pay.”
The back-and-forth matchup offered a glimpse of postseason-style hockey, something Hryckowian said was valuable experience against one of the Western Conference’s top teams.
