SALT LAKE CITY — TCU was right there again on the road but couldn’t finish late, falling 82-79 to Utah on Friday night at the Huntsman Center.
The Frogs scored 52 points in the paint and tied a season low with eight turnovers, but Utah made just enough plays down the stretch to hold on. All three of TCU’s road losses this season have now come by six points or fewer.
David Punch led the way with a career-high 22 points on 10-of-16 shooting, providing a steady presence inside. Jayden Pierre dished out a season-high six assists, while Brock Harding added five assists and knocked down two 3-pointers.
Micah Robinson gave TCU a lift off the bench with 14 points and five assists, marking his 11th double-figure scoring effort of the season as a reserve.
The loss moved TCU to 3-3 away from Schollmaier Arena and 6-18 all-time against Utah as the Frogs continue conference play.
