DALLAS – SMU continued its ACC dominance with a commanding 38-10 win over Syracuse, extending its program-record conference win streak to 18 games—the longest active streak in the nation.
Quarterback Kevin Jennings was nearly flawless, completing 29 of 35 passes for 285 yards and a career-high 4 touchdowns, hitting eight different receivers. He strung together 16 straight completions, second-most in SMU history.
After two early punts, SMU scored on four straight drives to build a 24-3 halftime lead. Jennings threw touchdown passes to Yamir Knight, RJ Maryland, Derrick McFall, and Jordan Hudson.
The defense was just as sharp—forcing 3 turnovers, including interceptions by Marcellus Barnes Jr., Ahmaad Moses, and Brandon Miyazono, while holding Syracuse scoreless on four fourth-down attempts.
SMU improved to 3-2 on the season and 32-14 under Rhett Lashlee, now 28-3 when scoring 30+ points.
Up next: another ACC test as the Mustangs look to keep the streak alive.
