Mavericks Re-Sign Sharp-Shooter Danté Exum, Waive Olivier-Maxence Prosper

DALLAS, TEXAS — The Dallas Mavericks have brought back guard Danté Exum, keeping the sharp-shooting Aussie in their plans while waiving forward Olivier-Maxence Prosper.

Exum, 6-foot-5, has raised his game in Dallas, hitting a franchise-best 47.2% from three-point range over 75 games with the Mavs. After stints overseas with FC Barcelona and Partizan Belgrade—where he helped win the Adriatic League title—he’s returned to the NBA ready to contribute.

Drafted fifth overall in 2014, Exum also boasts international experience, having helped Australia’s Boomers earn bronze at the Tokyo Olympics.

Prosper, meanwhile, appeared in 92 games for Dallas but averaged just 3.5 points in limited minutes, prompting the team to waive him as they reshape the roster for the new season.
