DALLAS, TEXAS — The Dallas Stars have brought back a familiar face, naming Glen Gulutzan as the team’s new head coach. Gulutzan returns to Dallas after spending the last seven seasons as an assistant with the Edmonton Oilers, where he helped guide the team to six playoff appearances and two straight trips to the Stanley Cup Final.
The 53-year-old began his NHL head coaching career with the Stars from 2011 to 2013 and has also led the Calgary Flames behind the bench. Across 294 NHL games as a head coach, Gulutzan holds a 146-125-23 record.
He previously coached the AHL’s Texas Stars to the Calder Cup Final in 2010 and had a standout six-year run in the ECHL with the Las Vegas Wranglers.
Gulutzan will be joined by returning staff members Alain Nasreddine, Jeff Reese, Patrick Dolan, and Chris Demczuk.
