Wings Let Late Lead Slip in Vegas, Fall 88-84 to Aces

LAS VEGAS — The Dallas Wings let a double-digit fourth-quarter lead slip away Friday night, falling 88-84 to the Las Vegas Aces at Michelob ULTRA Arena.

Dallas led by 11 with under four minutes left, but Las Vegas closed on a 17-2 run, fueled by 14 made free throws and a clutch three-pointer from Jewell Loyd with 28 seconds left.

Arike Ogunbowale led Dallas (1-11) with 26 points and eight assists, while Luisa Geiselsöder posted a career-high 13 points on perfect 6-for-6 shooting. Paige Bueckers added 16 points and five assists, and DiJonai Carrington had 15 points and eight boards.

Despite shooting better from the field and three-point range, the Wings were outscored 26-10 at the free-throw line and outrebounded 36-29. Jackie Young led the Aces (5-4) with 28 points, including 11-of-11 from the stripe.

The Wings return home Tuesday to host the Golden State Valkyries at 7 p.m. CT on KFAA29.
