MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA — The Texas Rangers exploded for six home runs and 16 runs Thursday, steamrolling the Minnesota Twins 16-3 at Target Field. It marked their second 16-run outburst in three games.
Josh Smith, Jake Burger, and Wyatt Langford all went deep in the first two innings. Evan Carter, Adolis García, and Sam Haggerty added homers later as Texas recorded a season-high in long balls.
Patrick Corbin (4-5) earned the win, tossing five-plus innings with 12 straight batters retired. Bailey Ober (4-3) struggled, allowing seven earned runs, six walks, and four homers in 4 2/3 innings.
