MINNEAPOLIS — The Rangers couldn’t hold an early lead Wednesday, falling 6-2 to the Twins at Target Field.
Marcus Semien homered in the second and Josh Smith added an RBI double in the third, but Texas was shut down the rest of the way. Starter Jack Leiter (4-3) gave up a three-run homer to Byron Buxton in the third — a 479-foot shot that turned the game — and lasted just four innings.
Minnesota added three more runs in the fifth to seal the win, while the Rangers’ bats went quiet, managing just three hits.
