ARLINGTON, TEXAS — The Texas Rangers dropped the opener of their seven-game homestand Tuesday night, falling 2-1 to the Oakland Athletics at Globe Life Field.
Texas (15-14) slipped to 10-4 at home in 2025 but still maintains a tie for the third-best 14-game home start in club history. The Rangers previously posted an 11-3 home start in both 1996 and 2004.
Despite the loss, Rangers pitchers continued a recent trend of dominance by holding Oakland without a home run. Texas has not allowed a homer in five consecutive games, matching its longest such streak since May 31 to June 5, 2023. The Rangers have allowed just 21 home runs through 29 games this season, the fewest in the American League and tied for second-fewest in Major League Baseball (14, New York Mets; 21, San Diego Padres).
The Rangers will continue their four-game series against the Athletics (0-1 on the homestand, +3 games) before hosting the Seattle Mariners for a three-game set over the weekend.
