Marshall’s Career Night Not Enough as Mavericks Fall to Suns

DALLAS, TEXAS — The Dallas Mavericks fell to the Phoenix Suns, 125-116, as the Suns claimed the 2024-25 season series, 3-1. The loss moved the Mavericks to 2-3 in their last five games against Phoenix and 5-5 in their last 10.

Naji Marshall delivered a career performance with 34 points (13-22 FG, 3-7 3FG), 9 rebounds, 10 assists, and 2 steals — narrowly missing his first career triple-double. Marshall joined elite company as one of just six Mavericks to record at least 30 points, 9 rebounds, and 10 assists in a game, alongside Dirk Nowitzki, Luka Dončić, Mark Aguirre, Michael Finley, and Jason Kidd.

Klay Thompson added 26 points with five 3-pointers, while Brandon Williams posted 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists before exiting with left hamstring tightness.

Despite hitting 17 threes and recording their 24th game this season with at least 15 makes from deep (16-7 record), Dallas couldn’t overcome Phoenix’s balanced attack.

Devin Booker paced the Suns with 24 points, while Kevin Durant contributed 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists.
