Dereck Lively II Selected for 2025 NBA Rising Stars Game

DALLAS, TEXAS — Dallas Mavericks center Dereck Lively II has been named to the 2025 NBA Rising Stars game, set for Feb. 14 at the Chase Center in San Francisco. The event, airing live on TNT at 8:00 p.m. CT, marks Lively’s second consecutive selection, joining Luka Dončić as the only Mavericks to appear in the game in back-to-back seasons.

Lively is having a standout sophomore year, averaging 9.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.7 blocks per game. He leads all second-year players in field goal percentage (.701 FG%) and ranks third in blocks. The 12th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft made history in his rookie season with the most efficient shooting percentage by a rookie in NBA history (.747 FG%).

This season, Lively posted a double-double in the opener with 15 points and 11 rebounds and set a career high with eight assists against the Denver Nuggets on Jan. 12.
