Boopie Miller’s Clutch Shot Lifts SMU Over Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA — Boopie Miller sank a dramatic right-wing three-pointer with 0.4 seconds left, sealing a 54-52 win for SMU over Virginia. This was Miller’s second game-winner of the season, adding to his floater against Cal Baptist on Nov. 26.

SMU went 3-for-3 on three-pointers in the final 25 seconds after starting 2-for-18 from deep. Trailing 50-45 with 31 seconds left, B.J. Edwards and Miller delivered clutch shots to complete the comeback.

SMU swept Virginia this season, having also won 63-51 at Moody Coliseum on Dec. 7. The Mustangs improved to 9-2 in their last 11 games and 5-2 on the road.
