Dallas Trinity FC’s Kicks-Off Inaugural Regular Season Home Opener Tonight

DALLAS, TEXAS — All eight USL Super League clubs are in action this weekend, and Dallas Trinity FC’s regular season home opener kicks off tonight at 7 p.m. against DC Power FC.

Last weekend, Dallas hosted and lost 0-6 to FC Barcelona Femení, the reigning UEFA Women’s Champions League winners, in an international friendly. Before that, a draw on the road at Tampa Bay Sun FC got them a point in the standings.

DC will play its third straight road match in Dallas, having also drawn with Tampa Bay FC 0-0, and a 0-1 loss to Carolina Ascent in the opening game of the season.

Two Dallas players were named to the USL Super League’s Team of the Month for August: Midfielder Chioma Ubogagu, who tallied Dallas’ first assist in team history on a cross to Hannah Davison against Tampa Bay in the season opener, and forward Allie Thornton, who had three shots in the same contest.

Sydney Staples was raised in Front Royal, Virginia. She played Division I soccer at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where she majored in Journalism and minored in Business, Marketing and Graphic Design. She then got her master's degree at Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications on the Sports Media and Communications track. Sydney has worked as a soccer analyst for ACC Network, a beat reporter for Sports Illustrated's Syracuse Orange on FanNation, and interned as an NFL Training Camp reporter for the Green Bay Packers. She was also a member of FOX Sports University's winning team that created a marketing campaign for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.
