SMU Picked 7th In It’s ACC 2024 Debut

In the upcoming 2024 season, there is a significant development in store for SMU Football as they make their long-anticipated debut in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), a move that coincides with the expansion to include Stanford and Cal.

SMU is poised to face a demanding schedule within the ACC, which now boasts a total of 17 teams. With the team currently holding the seventh position in the odds to secure the ACC title, the anticipation and excitement are palpable.

Keep an eye out for key matchups against traditional ACC powerhouses like Clemson and Florida State, and the emergence of thrilling new rivalries with Stanford and Cal will undoubtedly add an extra layer of excitement to the upcoming season.

Sydney Staples was raised in Front Royal, Virginia. She played Division I soccer at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where she majored in Journalism and minored in Business, Marketing and Graphic Design. She then got her master's degree at Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications on the Sports Media and Communications track. Sydney has worked as a soccer analyst for ACC Network, a beat reporter for Sports Illustrated's Syracuse Orange on FanNation, and interned as an NFL Training Camp reporter for the Green Bay Packers. She was also a member of FOX Sports University's winning team that created a marketing campaign for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.
