SMU Looks To Fry Some Rice

HOUSTON, TX — The SMU Mustangs will take on the Rice Owls to try and take home the Mayor’s Cup on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Rice Stadium. The Mustangs are double-digit, 12.5-point favorites.

Last Saturday, the Mustangs won against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, 69-10. In their last game, the Owls lost versus the Tulane Green Wave, 30-28. The loss doesn’t tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Juma Otoviano, who rushed for 38 yards and two touchdowns. JT Daniels was another key contributor, throwing for 189 yards and two touchdowns.

SMU is expected to be the favorite in this one, but do not be fooled, Rice is a dynamite team who might surprise the Mustangs.

Keep an eye on the end zone in Saturday’s game as both teams haven’t had much trouble putting points up on the board.
