Dallas Cowboys Recent Moves: Resigned C.J. Goodwin and Cooper Rush also Reworked Contract with Tyron Smith

FRISCO, TX – The Dallas Cowboys have re-signed Cooper Rush to a two-year deal worth $5 million that includes a $1.25 million dollar signing bonus. Rush can get up to $6 million on the deal.

Rush came in clutch for the Cowboys in the beginning of the season when QB Dak Prescott had a fractured thumb and missed six games for Dallas. Rush had a 5-1 record with the Cowboys in the last two years.

Dallas also re-signed C.J. Goodwin to a one-year deal. Goodwin is listed as a cornerback but his usual role is on special teams.

In 2022, Goodwin appeared in all 17 games and recorded three total tackles and one forced fumble.

The Cowboys also had to rework a new contract for offensive tackle Tyron Smith. Per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports that Smith’s restructured deal features $3 million guaranteed in base salary with a $3 million signing bonus.
That means Tyron is making $6 million this year, for certain, sacrifices $9 million of his contract.

He can earn back his now-gone money via a play-time incentive (worth up to $9 million) and a playoff incentive (worth up to $2 million).
