SMU Men’s Basketball Hits The Road To Face Tulsa

DALLAS, TX – Coming off of a four game conference losing streak, SMU mens basketball will be traveling to Oklahoma to play Tulsa on Wednesday, January 18th.

It has been a bumpy season for the Mustangs, to say the least, with first year head coach Rob Lanier repeatedly referring to this year as a “building year” for his team.

Lanier told members of the media last week that SMU is “not going to get an at large NCAA tournament bid this season,” which has come at a disappointment to many fans who witnessed the Mustangs barely miss the NCAA tournament last season.

SMU is currently the No. 215 team in NET rankings, 1-3 in American Conference play and number 9 in AAC Standings.

Despite these low ranks, Lanier told the media, “We can’t think about that stuff, we just have to keep getting better and you don’t do that by thinking about streaks.”

Wednesdays game against Tulsa will be live streamed on ESPN+ at 7 p.m.
