DALLAS, Texas — We are back at the American Airlines Center and the Dallas Mavericks delivered a win, defeating the Memphis Grizzlies 137-96 in Saturday nights home opener of the 2022-2023 season.

Luka Doncic put on a show as he led the Mavs with 32 points, 7 rebounds, and 10 assists. Along with Christian Wood who had 25 points, 12, rebounds, and 3 assists.

The Grizzlies were trying for their first 3-0 start in five years, but it ended in a blowout in just the first five days of their season. Dallas put its best defenders on the Grizzlies, specifically on star player Ja Morant. Morant was limited to 12 shots and only made six of them along with having 4 assists. He was 8 of 8 on free throws.

For what’s looking like the dynamite duo for the Mavs this season, Luka Donic and Christian Wood, Wood commented on what it’s like playing alongside Luka, he said, “it’s fun. Fun is the only word I can think of.” Head coach Jason Kidd also stated,-”I thought Luka and the guys set the tone in the first quarter.”
The Mavs will go back on the road to take on the New Orleans Pelicans Tuesday October, 25th.
