Mavericks Fall To Magic

DALLAS, TEXAS — Friday’s night game marked the first loss for the Mavericks under Jason Kidd in the preseason. Coming into tonight, Kidd had won his first five preseason contests with the Mavericks. Dallas falls to Orlando 110-105.

Christian Wood led the Mavericks with 23 points on 8-12 shooting (3-6 3FGM). Wood has averaged 19.5 points and 7.5 rebounds through two preseason games with the Mavericks on 60% shooting. Luka Dončić recorded 16 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists in only 18 minutes of play. Dončić scored or assisted 22 of the Mavs’ first 29 points tonight.

The 1st overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, Paolo Banchero, led the Magic with 19 points and 5 rebounds on 6-13 shooting. Terrence Ross scored 16 points on 6-8 shooting, while Mo Bamba contributed 13 points and Cole Anthony had 12 for Orlando.
