SMU Host Washington State In The 2nd Round Of The NIT Tournament

DALLAS, Texas — SMU to host Washington State in the 2nd round of the National Invitation Tournament on Sunday afternoon. The Mustangs earned the 1 seed and beat Nicholls by 10 points in the first round of the NIT tournament earlier this week. The Cougars are the 4 seed, moving beyond Santa Clara in the 1st round.

The Mustangs finished 2nd in the American Athletic Conference regular season sit at 24-8 overall. The Cougars are 20-14 overall and finished Pac-12 play 11-9. SMU Head Coach, Tim Jankovich said WSU plays great defense, so the Mustangs will need to match the Cougars defensive intensity to have success.

SMU will fight to defend their perfect 17-0 record in Moody Coliseum at 2:00 CT. The game will be the first meeting between the teams. Streaming will be available live on ESPN+ and 770 KAAM on the radio.
