Mavericks vs Nets Preview

DALLAS, Texas — The Dallas Mavericks will host the top ranked team in the Eastern Conference, the Brooklyn Nets, tonight at the American Airlines Center. The matchup should feature two of the NBA’s most elite scorers, as Luka Doncic and Kevin Durant will meet for the first time this season.

Doncic is entering this game averaging 25.4 points per game, while Durant is scoring 28.6 points per game. Kristaps Porzingis is starting to find his rhythm, putting up 21.3 points and grabbing 8.5 rebounds in his last 10 games. Overall though, the Mavericks have been in a slump lately, going 3-7 in their last 10 games. Doncic is questionable for the game tonight, dealing with left ankle soreness and a left thumb sprain. Porzingis is probable to return after missing the last two games while dealing with a left knee confusion.

At least one of the two Dallas stars has missed five of the Mavericks’ last nine games, all which were losses. For the Nets, they are 8-2 on the road this season and are looking to add another win to the column tonight as they take on a beat up Mavericks team in Dallas. Tip-off is set for 7:30pm.
