Mavericks Lose To Grizzlies

DALLAS, Texas — The Dallas Mavericks lose their second consecutive home game as they fall to the Memphis Grizzlies, 97-90.

Luka Doncic had left ankle soreness and Kristaps Porzingis who’s recovering from a left knee contusion did not play.

“We believed the whole time that we had a chance and those guys kept fighting. We caused over 20 turnovers. We had a lot of good looks even without Luka or KP on the floor. The guys were able to ball touch the paint, kick it and make a play for a teammate. Tim got going making shots. There was a lot of positive effort. It was just the little things. We got them to miss, we just couldn’t come up with the rebounds.” said Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd on the absence of his star players.

Tim Hardaway Jr. led the Mavericks with 29 points and 7 rebounds off the bench. 20 of Hardaway Jr.’s 29 points came in the fourth quarter of tonight’s game.

TCU product Desmond Bane returned to the DFW area and scored a career-high 29 points on 12-20 shooting to go with a career-high 9 rebounds.

The Mavericks will have a few days of rest before they play the New Jersey Nets Tuesday night at home.
