SMU Beats ULM 74-67

DALLAS, TEXAS — SMU beat ULM 74-67 in a come-back that went down to the wire. The Mustangs are now 5-3 overall, on a 2 game win streak.

The Mustangs got off to a slow start, shots weren’t falling and they turned the ball over in the paint several times.  At half, the Warhawks were up 2 points.

The Warhawks had the momentum most of the 2nd half, at 1 point leading by 10. Emmanuel Bandoumel hit back to back 3-pointers with 5 minutes to go and the Mustangs started to come alive. The Mustangs looked sharp the last few minutes and hit important free throws down the stretch.

Kendric Davis led the Mustangs scoring with 26 points including 8 of 8 at the free throw line. Bandoumel had a season high 21 points, which included 4 3-pointers. ULM had 3 double-digit scorers. Kareem Ozier led the Warhawks with 15, Thomas Howell and Andre Jones followed with 13 points each.

The Mustangs are 5-0 in Moody so far this season. SMU will look to continue their momentum on the 5 game home stand with UNLV Wednesday night.
