TCU Falls To No. 4 Oklahoma 52-31

NORMAN, OK – TCU (3-3, 1-2) fell to No. 4 Oklahoma (7-0, 4-0) in Norman as Oklahoma’s quarterback Caleb Williams made his starting debut for the Sooners.

TCU’s defense was the issue yet again in tonight’s matchup against the Sooners. They gave up 520 total offensive yards to Oklahoma. Williams had a great first start for the Sooners throwing for 295 yards for four touchdowns. Williams took over for Spencer Rattler after Williams led the comeback victory for the Sooners against Texas the previous weekend.

The Horned Frogs offense did however expose a tiring, banged up Oklahoma defense that was missing players in the secondary due to injury.

Max Duggan threw a career-high 346 total yards for four touchdowns and hit 5,000 total passing yards in his career now at 5,221.

The Horned Frogs rushing offense lacked tonight without their superstar Zach Evans. They ran for 186 total yards and the rush game was led by Duggan. He had 85 yards on the night.

Not having Evans hurt TCU, he is second in the Big 12 with 586 total yards rushing and five touchdowns on the season.

Without Evans TCU looked to their wide receivers to take over and Quentin Johnson did just that. Johnson had a career-high day with seven catches for 185 yards and racked up three touchdowns for the Horned Frogs.

TCU will be back at home this upcoming Saturday, October 23 to take on West Virginia at 6:30 P.M.
