DALLAS, Texas —  Dorian Finney-Smith hit a game winning 3 pointer as the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Washington Wizards 125-124 Saturday night.

“I knew they were trapping Luka. They trapped him the last three positions and I just got a layup two positions before then and I got the turnover out of bounds. I knew the ball was probably going to find me most likely, so I just wanted to be ready to shoot. I didn’t shoot that ball when I stepped out of bounds and I told him if you find me again, I’m going to let it go and they found me,” says Finney-Smith.

Finney-Smith tossed in 22 pointsand 5 rebounds. His 6 made 3-pointers tied a career-high.

Luka Dončić finished tonight’s game with 31 points (12-23 FG), 12 rebounds and a career-high 20 assists for his first triple-double in over a month.

Russell Westbrook led Washington with 42 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. This is remarkably the first time that Westbrook has missed a triple-double by one point, rebound or assist this season. Bradley Beal added 29 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists while Rui Hachimura had 18 points.

Mavericks are tied with the Los Angeles Lakers for the fifth seed in the Western Conference.
