BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Dallas Trinity FC saw its road trip take a tough turn with a 3-0 defeat against Brooklyn FC, but the bigger picture remains unchanged — Dallas is still firmly in the postseason hunt.
Despite the lopsided scoreline, Trinity (9-9-5, 32 points) holds onto fourth place in the Gainbridge Super League standings, keeping control of one of the league’s four playoff spots. The gap to third-place Carolina Ascent FC sits at seven points, while Dallas maintains a slim three-point cushion over fifth-place DC Power FC.
Brooklyn capitalized on its chances throughout the night, finishing with 12 total shots and five on target. Dallas, meanwhile, struggled to find its rhythm in the final third, producing seven shots with just one testing the keeper.
Still, Trinity controlled much of the tempo, winning the possession battle at 58.4 percent — a sign that the performance wasn’t as one-sided as the score suggests.
Defender Sydney Cheesman marked a milestone, earning her first professional start and logging 68 minutes on the back line. In goal, Tyler McCamey added another stop to her season tally, now sitting at 29 saves across 10 appearances.
Dallas utilized 15 players in the match, continuing to lean on depth as the regular season winds down.
The loss evens the season series between the two sides at 1-1-1, with one final meeting set for April 25 in Brooklyn.
