FRISCO, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys continued adding competition to their secondary Friday, agreeing to terms on a one-year deal with cornerback Cobie Durant.
Durant, 26, brings valuable experience and versatility to a Dallas defensive backfield looking to solidify depth heading into the upcoming season. Known for his quick instincts and ability to make plays on the ball, Durant has appeared in multiple games over the past few seasons and has contributed both on defense and special teams.
The former South Carolina State standout originally entered the league as a fourth-round draft pick and quickly gained attention for his playmaking ability. Despite being undersized compared to some outside corners, Durant has built a reputation as a physical defender who competes well in coverage and isn’t afraid to step up in run support.
For the Cowboys, the move adds another option in the cornerback rotation as the team reshapes parts of its defense during the offseason. Dallas has prioritized depth in the secondary, particularly with the long NFL season demanding reliable contributors behind its starting group.
Durant will have an opportunity to compete for snaps during training camp and could carve out a role as a rotational corner and special teams contributor.
Dallas continues evaluating its roster through free agency as the front office works to strengthen the defense ahead of the 2026 season.
