FRISCO, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys are bringing back a familiar presence on the defensive front.
Dallas and defensive end Sam Williams have agreed to terms on a one-year deal, keeping the young pass rusher in the Cowboys’ rotation as the team continues shaping its defensive unit for the upcoming season.
Williams has flashed big-play ability since arriving in Dallas, using his speed off the edge to pressure quarterbacks and disrupt opposing offenses. While his role has primarily been as a rotational defender, the Cowboys value his explosiveness and depth along the defensive line.
The former Ole Miss standout has shown a knack for making impact plays in limited snaps, including sacks, tackles for loss, and forced turnovers. Dallas hopes another year in the system will help Williams continue developing while providing valuable support in the pass rush.
Bringing Williams back also adds continuity to a defense that has leaned heavily on its front four to generate pressure without excessive blitzing.
With the one-year agreement in place, Williams will have an opportunity to compete for a larger role as the Cowboys prepare for offseason workouts and training camp.
