FRISCO, Texas — The Dallas Stars added scoring depth ahead of the stretch run, acquiring forward Michael Bunting from the Nashville Predators, the team announced.
Bunting brings a physical edge and offensive production to a Dallas lineup already among the Western Conference’s most balanced. Known for his net-front presence and ability to create scoring chances around the crease, the veteran winger is expected to slot into the Stars’ forward rotation as the club continues its push toward the postseason.
The 28-year-old has built a reputation as an agitator who can also contribute offensively. Bunting has consistently produced in top-nine roles during his NHL career, using his relentless forechecking and willingness to battle in traffic to generate opportunities.
For Dallas, the move adds another experienced forward to a roster that has surged in recent weeks. The Stars have leaned on their depth all season, and Bunting’s arrival gives head coach Pete DeBoer another versatile option in the lineup.
As the playoff race tightens, Dallas continues to fine-tune a roster built for a deep run — and Bunting’s gritty style could fit well with the identity the Stars have established.
