DALLAS (AP) — SMU used balanced scoring and strong ball movement to earn an 89-81 ACC victory over Notre Dame on Tuesday night, improving to 17-7 overall and 6-5 in conference play.
Jaron Pierre Jr. led the Mustangs with 22 points, eight rebounds and six assists while surpassing 2,000 career points. Boopie Miller added 20 points and extended his double-figure scoring streak to 31 straight games. Corey Washington finished with 14 points, and Samet Yigitoglu posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
SMU controlled momentum with a 13-2 run in the first half and a decisive 14-0 surge after halftime. The Mustangs recorded 25 assists on 32 made field goals, shot over 50 percent from the floor and outrebounded Notre Dame 38-26.
The win moves SMU to 13-2 at Moody Coliseum this season as the Mustangs continue their push in ACC play heading into a road matchup at Syracuse.
