DALLAS — Thomas Harley scored the overtime winner to lift the Dallas Stars to a 3-2 victory over the Winnipeg Jets on Monday night, extending Dallas’ win streak to five games.
Harley finished a setup from Matt Duchene in overtime, giving him six career overtime goals, tying a franchise record among defensemen. The blue-liner has six points in his last seven games.
Jake Oettinger made a key overtime save and secured his fifth straight win, becoming the seventh American-born goalie in NHL history with 10 separate winning streaks of five games or more.
Mikko Rantanen scored in the third period for Dallas, while Nils Lundkvist added his third goal of the season. Duchene recorded two assists, including his 100th with the Stars. Jamie Benn added an assist, and Roope Hintz won 11 faceoffs.
Dallas has now won five straight games, all by one goal.
Winnipeg head coach Scott Arniel said the Jets had chances but couldn’t capitalize late, adding that his team must find ways to close out tight games.
