DALLAS — Dallas Trinity FC opened the Nathan Thackeray era with a 1-1 draw against Brooklyn FC, extending its unbeaten streak to five matches and holding firm in the top four of the Gainbridge Super League standings.
Dallas (home record: 4-2-2) weathered early pressure before finding an equalizer in the 58th minute. Midfielder Heather Stainbrook slipped a well-timed pass into space, and forward Camryn Lancaster finished the move for her second goal of the season—matching her total from the 2024/25 campaign.
Despite being outshot 14-5, Trinity controlled the match tempo, owning 60.8% of possession. Fifteen players saw action as Dallas integrated three January signings—Lauren Flynn, Tyler McCamey, and Stainbrook—all making their club debuts.
Brooklyn generated more looks on goal, placing four shots on target, but Dallas remained composed defensively and made its possession count when the opportunity arrived.
“I’m glad to get the first one out of the way,” Thackeray said after his debut on the Trinity touchline. “This is a starting point. We’ll take the experiences from this match and grow.”
Lancaster credited the group’s resilience after the winter break. “It was exciting to be back out there,” she said. “Once we shook off the rust, it was great playing with the new faces and executing what we’ve been working on.”
Stainbrook’s assist didn’t come by chance. “We talked about that play at halftime,” she said. “As soon as I got the ball in that pocket, I knew Cam was going to run.”
Dallas improved to 3-2-1 all-time against Brooklyn. The two sides will meet twice more this season, April 11 and April 25.
