FRISCO, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys are set to hire Christian Parker as their next defensive coordinator, according to league sources, opting for a younger voice as they look to reset a struggling unit.
Parker comes to Dallas after spending the past two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he worked as secondary coach and passing game coordinator under Vic Fangio. Philadelphia’s defense thrived during that span, earning a reputation for discipline and limiting explosive plays.
The move follows Dallas’ decision to part ways with Matt Eberflus after a disappointing 2025 season in which the Cowboys finished near the bottom of the league defensively. Parker, 34, will be stepping into his first NFL defensive coordinator role after previous stops with Green Bay, Denver and Philadelphia.
By handing the reins to Parker, the Cowboys signal a shift toward development and fresh ideas as they try to restore a defense that once served as the backbone of their playoff runs
