DALLAS — The Dallas Stars put together one of their most complete performances of the season Tuesday night, cruising past the Boston Bruins with a strong all-around effort at American Airlines Center.
Rookie Justin Hryckowian led the way with the first three-point game of his career, finishing with a goal and two assists. He also impressed at the faceoff dot, winning 10 of 13 draws as Dallas controlled possession throughout the night.
Miro Heiskanen recorded three assists, moving into seventh all-time among Finnish defensemen in NHL scoring, while Esa Lindell scored his fifth goal of the season. Wyatt Johnston added his 16th power-play goal, moving within two of the franchise record, and Mavrik Bourque chipped in a goal and an assist.
The Stars generated 37 shots on goal and limited Boston’s chances, allowing goaltender Jake Oettinger to enjoy a relatively quiet night.
“We were solid defensively and played the right way for 60 minutes,” Oettinger said.
Boston struggled to keep pace, particularly at even strength, as Dallas dictated play from the opening faceoff.
The win marked a confidence-building performance for the Stars as they look to build momentum moving forward.
