WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — SMU delivered one of its most balanced performances of the season Tuesday night, knocking off Wake Forest 91–79 at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
B.J. Edwards led the way with 24 points while stuffing the stat sheet with eight rebounds, seven assists and six steals as the Mustangs controlled the game from start to finish. SMU carried a 45–36 lead into halftime and never trailed in the second half.
Boopie Miller finished with 12 points to extend his double-figure scoring streak to 26 straight games, while Jaron Pierre Jr. added 13. Freshman Jaden Toombs chipped in 10 points and nine rebounds as SMU dominated the glass, 40–28.
The Mustangs shot 50 percent from the field and knocked down 14 three-pointers, with eight different players hitting from beyond the arc. A 10–0 run midway through the second half created the separation SMU needed on a night when Wake Forest struggled to keep pace offensively.
SMU improves to 14–5 overall and 3–3 in ACC play and returns home Saturday to host Florida State.
