DALLAS — Jaron Pierre Jr. delivered a season-best 35 points as SMU rolled past Texas A&M, 93–80, capping one of the Mustangs’ most complete performances of the year.
After falling behind 10–2, SMU erupted with a 39–17 run to take a 41–27 halftime lead. The Mustangs clamped down defensively, holding A&M without a field goal for the final eight minutes of the half and dominating the paint, second-chance points, and transition.
Pierre carried the scoring load, while Boopie Miller added 19 to extend his double-figure streak to 18 games. Corey Washington (14) and Samet Yigitoglu (12) rounded out four double-digit scorers for SMU.
Point guard B.J. Edwards posted a standout all-around effort with nine points, nine rebounds, 11 assists, and three steals.
SMU shot 47 percent, scored 24 fast-break points, and went 26-for-28 at the line — including a perfect 10-for-10 from Miller. The Mustangs improved to 8–1 this season when four players score in double figures.
