DALLAS, Texas — SMU pulled off one of the biggest wins in program history, defeating No. 10 Miami 26–20 in overtime before a sellout crowd of 35,074 on Homecoming at Ford Stadium. The victory marks the Mustangs’ highest-ranked home win ever and their first over a top-10 opponent since beating No. 6 Pitt in the 1983 Cotton Bowl.

Quarterback Kevin Jennings led the charge with a career-high 365 passing yards and two total touchdowns, including a 28-yard strike to Yamir Knight and a 3-yard rushing score. His favorite target, Jordan Hudson, posted career highs with 11 receptions for 136 yards.

Defensively, safety Ahmaad Moses turned in a game to remember — recording 15 tackles and two interceptions, including one in overtime that set up TJ Harden’s 1-yard game-winning touchdown run.

The win extended SMU’s dominance at home, where the Mustangs have now won 13 straight conference games and remain unbeaten (7–0) in ACC play at Ford Stadium. SMU improves to 6–3 overall (4–1 ACC), while Miami falls to 6–2 (2–2 ACC).

Adding to the celebratory night, SMU announced a two-year contract extension for head coach Rhett Lashlee. The game also featured high-profile guests — former U.S. President George W. Bush and Laura Bush, who handled the coin toss, and actor Christopher McDonald, the “Celebrity of the Game.”

Next up, SMU travels to Boston College on November 8 for an ACC showdown airing on the ACC Network.
