DALLAS, TEXAS — SMU continued its conference dominance with a 34-10 victory over Stanford, pushing its program-record league win streak to 19 games — the longest active run in the nation. The win also marked the Mustangs’ 12th straight home conference victory at Ford Stadium.
After two early punts, SMU’s offense ignited, scoring on four straight drives to take a 24-7 lead. Sophomore Chris Johnson Jr. stole the show with an 87-yard touchdown run and a receiving score, finishing with a career-high 96 rushing yards. Linebacker Justin Medlock added a 96-yard pick-six, the fourth-longest interception return in program history.
Quarterback Kevin Jennings stayed efficient, completing 22 of 30 passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns, spreading the ball to seven receivers.
The Mustang defense dominated with six sacks, eight tackles for loss, and two takeaways. Ahmaad Moses and Isaiah Nwokobia led the team with 11 tackles each.
Now 4-2 on the season, SMU improves to 33-14 under Rhett Lashlee and 29-3 when scoring at least 30 points, continuing its rise as one of the ACC’s most complete teams.
