WINNIPEG — The Dallas Stars opened the 2025-26 season with a nail-biting 5-4 win over the Winnipeg Jets on the road Thursday night.

Dallas saw five different players find the back of the net, showcasing depth and offensive balance early in the season. The Stars jumped out to a lead, but the Jets kept it close, forcing a back-and-forth battle deep into the third period.

Jake Oettinger made several key saves late to seal the win, helping the Stars hold on and start the year 1-0.

Next up, Dallas returns home for their season opener at American Airlines Center.
